Yes, the National Gallery has an underground parking garage. Underground parking costs $2.75 per half-hour, up to a daily maximum of $14 (Members $12). The clearance for the underground parking garage is 1.8 metres (6 feet). Parking is also permitted on adjacent streets.
You can purchase tickets in person at the Gallery’s box office, online, or by phone at 613-990-1985 or 1-800-319-2787 (ARTS).

Bags larger than 30 × 40 × 12 cm (12 × 16 × 5 inches), backpacks, luggage and umbrellas must be checked in the cloakroom, where you can also check your coat. The cloakroom is free of charge and secure. Bags may be searched upon entering or leaving the building. Balloons, flags and banners are not permitted inside the building. Tripods and selfie sticks, and food and beverages are not permitted in the galleries. For more information, please read the Visitor Code of Conduct.

The National Gallery of Canada is a wonderful space to enjoy a snack, a glass of wine or a coffee, your packed lunch or a delicious meal.
If you’ve lost something at the Gallery, you can inquire at the Cloakroom.
Handheld photography for personal use is permitted in public spaces and galleries, except where indicated. It is the visitor’s responsibility to respect Canadian copyright laws (see http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/c-42/) and the rights of artists and their representatives. Flash photography and tripods are not permitted.
- How do I know if I can or cannot photograph a work of art?
You will see a “No Photo” symbol close to the work’s label OR a “No Photo” sign at the entrance to the exhibition space. - Can I photograph an entire room of works if only one of the works in the space has a “No Photo” symbol?
No, you are not allowed to take a photograph of a work identified with a “No Photo” symbol, even as part of a larger photograph.
Yes. Every Free Thursday, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., admission is free to all the Gallery’s exhibitions.
If you have a complimentary pass, please exchange it for admission at the Box Office, at the main entrance to the Gallery.

If you wish to obtain photographic material or reproduce an NGC image, you must apply for permission to do so. Fill out the online form.
