The National Gallery of Canada is the large glass building with two octagonal towers at the corner of St. Patrick Street and Sussex Drive.

Parking
Please note the Gallery’s parking garage is reserved for Gallery visitors and employees only.
Parking costs $2.75 per half-hour, up to a maximum of $21 with no in and out privileges. Open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Overnight parking is not permitted. Members can obtain their parking discount by presenting their ticket to the box office when visiting the Gallery.
As of May 1 2025, the parking garage will be cashless. Customers can pay with debit or credit cards, including tap options via Apple Wallet and Google Pay.
The clearance for the underground parking garage is 1.8 metres (6 feet). Parking is also available on adjacent streets.
How to get here
By car, bike, foot or bus, the National Gallery of Canada is easy to get to.
By Car
Via highway 417
Take the Metcalfe Exit. The Gallery is a 10-minute drive north.
From Québec
If you are coming from Québec, the Gallery is across the river from Gatineau at the Alexandra Bridge, or less than a minute drive south from where Autoroute 5 South crosses into Ottawa.

Although the Gallery does not yet have onsite charging stations, there are several charging stations nearby.

By bike

Bike Parking
Seasonal outdoor bike racks are located on the Gallery plaza, near the main entrance.
By foot
The National Gallery is within walking distance of ByWard Market, Château Laurier and Parliament Hill.
By bus
There are two bus systems with routes that access the Gallery, one from the Québec side (Gatineau-Hull), and the other within Ottawa.
From Ottawa
Several OC Transpo buses will take you to the National Gallery of Canada and the surrounding area. For more information, consult the OC Transpo travel planner.
